It’s been a busy year!
Firelight Coffee Roasters has seen tremendous growth this year, so we thought it would be nice to take a look at all that happened to make it possible. This year had many “firsts”, with many coffee regions being introduced for the first time (like our Costa Rican coffees and the special wet-hulled Sumatran coffee). Other new products included our now sold-out mugs, two t-shirt designs, and a limited run cold brew that was offered during the summer months. We’ve taken feedback from everything this year to make our offerings even better going into 2016.
We moved from our initial roastery in north Atlanta to the amazing Strongbox West collaborative space in West Midtown, where we opened our first coffee shop and tasting room. This allowed us to better integrate with the Atlanta coffee community, and we’ve been ecstatic to serve the community at Strongbox while roasting in the evenings. Our roast nights have grown along with the demand and require multiple days to keep up. Our expert barista, Grace, came on board to manage day-to-day operations and train up other staff. The tasting room has been a huge asset so far, and will only grow in the next year.
We have some great things in store for the new year. Expect a lot more coffee offerings on the website and in-store, new drinks in the tasting room, and other surprises (new bag design anyone?). There are a ton of other goals including web and design overhauls, sourcing trips, and expanding our footprint nationally, but the priority is always to consistently produce the best, most interesting coffee that we can get our hands on.
